Get a thorough technical package built to support what comes next, reviewed for scope and enablement, finalized and filed by independent licensed patent counsel.

Your team, our lab, independent counsel
Ideation, screening, preparationWhy Reviewed Provisional Matters
A provisional application only supports what it discloses. If the description is thin, a later non-provisional may not be able to rely on the earlier date for the parts that matter. Depth, variations and drawings are where that value is decided, and that is the work we focus on.
Our What Goes Into It
From a completed disclosure to a counsel-filed application.
Disclosure Review
Starting from a Sprint disclosure or your existing invention, the gaps get closed.
Variations and Alternatives
Alternative embodiments are documented so your disclosure is not limited to one version.
Drawings and Technical Detail
You get figures, flowcharts and descriptions organized the way counsel works.
Portfolio Fit
You get notes on how the filing relates to your other inventions and roadmap.
Counsel Review and Filing
Independent licensed patent counsel reviews scope and enablement, finalizes and files, and advises on next steps.
Industry Landscape
A provisional application generally must be followed by a non-provisional application within twelve months to pursue a patent. Filing a provisional does not ensure that a patent will be granted. Counsel advises on what a later application can claim.
Key Coverage Areas & Applications
After a Discovery Sprint
Move top candidates into a filing quickly.
A Specific Invention
Your team has an invention that needs a thorough filing.
Upcoming Disclosure
A launch, paper or demo is coming and counsel recommends filing first.
Replacing a Thin Filing
An earlier provisional may need a fuller follow-up, as counsel advises.
Our delivery commitment
Subject to your engagement agreement: half up front, half at completion. If a counsel-filed provisional patent application describing at least two distinct inventions, as defined in that agreement, is not delivered within 90 days, you receive a refund of fees paid. Delays caused by late materials, reviews or signatures on your side extend the period. This is not a promise of a patent grant or any commercial outcome.
Reviewed Provisional: Common Questions
Our Credentials
Founded by James Borzilleri, named inventor and technology founder
James Borzilleri built this practice around a problem he met personally. He is a named inventor on an issued U.S. patent and on multiple pending U.S. patent applications, and working through that first filing himself showed him where the process tends to break: inventions that were never written down, records that arrive too thin for counsel to work from, and valuable work that leaves with the engineer who created it.
Rather than accept those gaps, he designed the technology and the working method behind Idea Partnership himself, then refined them across years of founding and advising technology companies in fintech and adjacent fields. The result is a repeatable way to turn what your team already builds, and what your roadmap still needs, into a documented invention record that patent counsel can file from.
Idea Partnership is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, opinions, or patent filing or prosecution services. We work alongside each client's qualified patent counsel, who is responsible for all legal advice, opinions, drafting, filing, and prosecution.
