Find the Inventions Your Company Has Not Created Yet
Get a ranked list of candidate inventions and counsel-ready disclosures from a focused, fixed-scope review of your roadmap, products and competitors.
Why IP Discovery Sprint Matters
Most companies only file on what an engineer happens to flag. That leaves the biggest opportunities untouched: the next product, the extension a competitor has not thought of, the process change that saves real money. The Sprint is built to surface those deliberately, in weeks, with a clear record of who conceived what.
Our How the Sprint Runs
A few weeks from intake to a ranked, counsel-ready shortlist.
Confidential Intake
Under NDA, your roadmap, product materials, release history and the publicly available offerings of your competitors are reviewed.
Codebase Audit
A read-only review of your repositories under NDA maps the inventions already in your code, so new work builds on what you own.
Proprietary Invention Engine
Audit findings and your business inputs feed our proprietary invention engine, which develops new products, services, extensions and technical process improvements for your team.
Inventor Workshops
Your technical leads join two working sessions to test, refine and extend the strongest concepts.
Novelty Screen
You get prior art research on top candidates, so your counsel sees relevant references early.
Ranked Shortlist
Candidates ranked by business fit and novelty signal, each with a patent, trade secret or defensive publication recommendation for counsel to confirm.
Disclosures and Filing Plan
Completed invention disclosures for top candidates, including a record of each contributor's conception, and a filing plan reviewed by independent patent counsel.
Industry Landscape
The Sprint works across software and systems, hardware and electronics, semiconductors, mechanical and industrial technology, and medical and life-science devices. Rankings reflect our research and judgment and are not a patentability opinion. Counsel makes all legal assessments.

Delays caused by late materials, reviews or signatures on your side extend the period. This is not a promise of a patent grant or any commercial outcome.
IP Discovery Sprint: Common Questions
Our Credentials
Founded by James Borzilleri, named inventor and technology founder
James Borzilleri built this practice around a problem he met personally. He is a named inventor on an issued U.S. patent and on multiple pending U.S. patent applications, and working through that first filing himself showed him where the process tends to break: inventions that were never written down, records that arrive too thin for counsel to work from, and valuable work that leaves with the engineer who created it.
Rather than accept those gaps, he designed the technology and the working method behind Idea Partnership himself, then refined them across years of founding and advising technology companies in fintech and adjacent fields. The result is a repeatable way to turn what your team already builds, and what your roadmap still needs, into a documented invention record that patent counsel can file from.
Idea Partnership is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, opinions, or patent filing or prosecution services. We work alongside each client's qualified patent counsel, who is responsible for all legal advice, opinions, drafting, filing, and prosecution.
